Day Six - Long Island cycling, Sandy Cove Beach, Old growth Eastern Hemlock stand

An epic day! First we cycled 65k along the Digby Peninsula to Long Island in perfect sunshine. The locals are wonderfully hospitable and we got tips on a local beach at Sandy Cove which was spectacular, though filled with garbage. Back at Kejimkuik, we hiked to an old growth stand of Eastern Hemlock which survived the massive logging during colonization (at which time old growth trees were being used for ships etc.) The trees were over 400 years old, and breath-taking.
