Day Nine: Halifax

Riding our bikes to downtown Halifax, we began the day with a rather intensive hunt for good coffee. The first stop, Cafe Ristretto, was an epic fail but we did get the chance to sit next to big deal producer Paul Pope (he's not actually a big deal, but really rather loud and annoying, and was talking loudly of his next TV series involving cops). Next we decided beers were a better choice, and we satisfied Will's quest for delicious micro-crafted brews at the Heart and Thistle. Will greatly enjoyed the special Imperial Double India Pale Ale on a nitrogen tap (11.7% abv), and I discovered the wonders of the local owned and acclaimed Garrison Brewery. We also enjoyed a smoked haddock chowder, which was delicious. Quenched and ready, we renewed the quest for an acceptable latte. Ending up at Just Us! Coffee, we were pleasantly surprised  to find velvetty milk and wonderful crema. To top it off, next door was one of the best used bookstores I've ever browsed, Cheaper by the Dozen, and we browsed for over an hour! We ended the day at the Rogue's Roost brewery, where Will tried deep fried pepperoni. It was a wonderful day of walking, exploring, and finding out what Halifax has to offer.
