Day Seven - Drive from Digby to Mahone Bay, Mavillette Beach

We took the scenic coastal route from Digby around the arm of N.S., ending in Mahone Bay. Along the way we saw many beautiful old churches including Point-de- L'Eglise (the tallest wooden church in North America), stopped to buy fresh homemade bread, nearly ran over a duck slowly crossing the highway, and enjoyed the sunshine at Mavillette Beach. We also came across Crescent Beach, which was open for driving! Midday we stopped for our only scheduled indulgence at Nova Scotia's sole craft brewery, Rudders Brewery in Yarmouth- smoked Atlantic salmon, haddock and scallops with chips! Stumbling on Hammock in the Woods B&B, we decided to enjoy much needed showers, and then toured around Mahone Bay.
